Estimate electric vehicle range based on battery size, efficiency, temperature, speed, and driving conditions.
How to Use This EV Range Calculator
Enter your EV's battery capacity (kWh), manufacturer range, and driving conditions (temperature, speed, terrain, HVAC use). The calculator estimates real-world range.
Formula & How It Works
Real Range = EPA Range × Combined Adjustment Factor. Factors: cold weather (-10-40%), highway speed (+5 mph = -5 to 8%), HVAC (-10-15%), hills (-5-15%).
Calculation Example
Tesla Model 3 (75 kWh, 350 mi EPA range) in 20°F (-7°C) at highway speed with heater: ~210-245 miles (60-70% of EPA).
Expert Tips
Precondition your battery while plugged in to save range. Drive at 55-65 mph for optimal efficiency. Cold weather is the biggest range killer. Charge to 80% daily, 100% only before long trips.
